Who We Are
One team, one purpose: transform
Kikwetu Foundation began with a founder and a small group of passionate youth determined to advocate for African culture as a pathway to economic opportunity. That founding spirit still defines how the team works today.
We invest in a distinct way of doing things, guided by our core purpose: to transform. We create opportunities for young Africans to be part of our growth story by equipping them with the tools they need for economic growth, life skills, and education.

Each member brings a different skill set to the same mission: creating real opportunity for young Africans.
Kendy Mbugua
Founder & Chairman
Kendy is very keen on leadership and mentorship, and is actively involved in business, investment, and working with young people. He founded Kikwetu Foundation from a small cyber café in Dandora and continues to impart his experience in business to young people and the wider community.
Timothy Nzuna
Vice-Chairperson
Timothy is a visionary, brand consultant, and creative designer, and founder of Group Butterfly Branding Africa, a leading branding agency for co-operating brands and businesses.
Susan Munyoki
Secretary
Susan is a gifted writer and entrepreneur. Her short story, "Cold Feet on Sunny Day," is published in the FEMRITE anthology "Summoning the Rains." She also owns Professional Writers Kenya, a writing services company, and brings a passion for music and the arts to the Foundation's work.
Samuel Kariuki
Treasurer
A banker by profession with a degree in Political Science and Economics from the University of Nairobi, Samuel brings his love for numbers and accounting to the Foundation, keeping its accounts organized and up to date.
Judy Muthoni
Having lived in almost all countries in East Africa, Judy has interacted with and gained exposure to different cultures around the continent. Her main passion is mentoring and interacting with young people to forge good relationships that lead to self-reliance, through contacts built via activities sponsored by Kikwetu Foundation.
